Excavator Hire Perth: 1.8t to 13.8t Diggers
We hire Komatsu excavators across the full size range: the 1.8t PC18 for tight residential access, the 5.5t PC55 for house pads and service trenches, and the 13.8t PC138US-11 for full site cuts and large-scale earthworks. One call and we work out which machine fits your job.
All excavators are available on wet hire (machine plus our Komatsu-trained operator) or dry hire (machine delivered to you). Wet hire is the smart choice for most Perth residential and builder jobs - the operator manages the machine, the bucket selection and the work, while you manage the project.
Our operators are Komatsu-trained fitters. That means if a machine plays up mid-job, it gets sorted on site without waiting on a mechanic. No downtime, no costly delays.

Choosing the Right Excavator Size for Your Job
When to Choose the Komatsu PC18 (1.8t)
- Side gate access only - the PC18 fits through a standard 900mm gate
- Soakwell installations in tight backyards
- Shallow service trenches and small pool surrounds
- Jobs where a larger machine would cause surface damage getting to the work area
When to Choose the Komatsu PC55 (5.5t)
- House pads and slab preparation on standard residential blocks
- Pool excavations - the PC55 moves volume efficiently
- Service trenches over 20m long or deeper than 1.5m
- Jobs where the PC18 would take three days and the PC55 would take one
When to Choose the Komatsu PC138US-11 (13.8t)
- Full site cuts for new builds on raw blocks
- Large earthmoving volumes where the PC55 would run all week
- Deep excavations beyond 4m
- Tight-tail-swing requirement for boundary work on constrained sites
Not Sure Which Machine?
Call us and describe the job - access width, what you need to move, how deep, and the soil type. We will tell you which machine gets the job done in the fewest days. Getting the size right saves you money.

What Drives the Total Cost
The machine day rate is only part of the cost. Transport, job duration and ground conditions are the main variables. A 1.8t doing a two-day job in limestone can cost more than a 5.5t doing the same job in one day in sandy ground. We explain this when we quote.

Why We Run Komatsu and Maintain Them Ourselves
Included In The Rate
- Machines are on a Komatsu-scheduled maintenance programme - services done by the operator who runs the machine
- Hydraulic lines, bucket pins, track tension and greasing are checked before every job
- On-site fault response means a small issue stays a small issue instead of becoming a day off
- Direct line to us throughout every job - the owner answers and manages the outcome
What Is Not Included
“We service our own machines. If something plays up on site, it gets sorted then and there - no waiting, no phone tag with a mechanic.”
